As Chief, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our website, where we have spent significant time working to keep our community informed. Communication from our agency is constantly evolving, and we are adapting to the changing technology. We also have to be realistic and understand that some community members may need access to the internet, which is why we continue to mail out the newsletter. Regardless of how you get our information, I hope you find it a valuable resource as citizens and visitors to Spokane County. The department has a single mission: to reduce the loss of life and minimize property damage for the citizens and visitors to our community. Spokane County Fire District 10 has over 60 (career and volunteer) uniformed Fire and EMS personnel devoted to protecting life, property, and the environment through their involvement in fire prevention, firefighting, emergency medical care, and community service.
Spokane County Fire District 10 holds the fundamental principle that our members are the organization’s foundation. The department can be as good as its membership. Management values the membership and collaborates with them in designing and implementing the systems, procedures, and processes that form the framework of our organization.
It is a pleasure to work with dedicated personnel who continually strive to improve their skills and service to the community. I am proud to have the opportunity to lead this organization into the future. Training firefighters in our facility allows the department to practice the skills needed when responding to emergencies. The department has dedicated itself to maintaining high-quality, critical training. Training occurs in our two-story training prop that we built as a temporary facility using grant dollars. This results in increased training hours per year for our firefighters.
Our attached newsletter will help provide you with additional information for the upcoming levy lid lift on the August 1st ballot.
It is with honor and dedication we serve the community. Please contact us if you have any additional questions or suggestions to improve our services.
Respectfully,
Chief Ken Johnson
