
Labor Day Fires
On Monday the 7th at 14:20 the Christensen Rd Fire quickly grew to 80 acres where seven structures were lost and one damaged during the fire, 20 structures were saved. Resources from around the region have been working day and night to keep the fire from growing. Crews will remain on scene for the remainder of the week. Tomorrow morning on September 10th at 0600 evacuation notices will be lifted for the Christensen Rd fire which is currently 50% contained with 25 personnel working around the clock.
The fire ran under a unified command between Fire District 10 and DNR. The cause of the this fire is under investigation. There have been no civilian or firefighter injuries the fire.
On Monday the 7th at 16:30 another fire started in Spokane County Fire District 10. The Euclid Track fire (Trails Rd) grew to 260 acres where 6 structures were lost during the initial attack efforts. 40 structures were saved by initial attack crews. The fire is currently 50% contained and firefighters will remain on scene throughout the week. on this fire, 75 firefighters are working around the clock. Tomorrow morning on September 10th at 0600 evacuation notices will be lifted for the Euclid track fire.
Both Fires were running with unified command between Fire District 10 and DNR. The cause of the fires are under investigation. There have been no civilian or firefighter injuries on either fire.
