James “Jim” McKelvey 💛
James “Jim” McKelvey has an extensive background with Spokane County Fire District 10. He began as a volunteer back in 1982 serving for 25 years. Jim represented the citizens of Spokane County Fire District 10 as a commissioner for 31 years, retiring in 2019. During that time Jim oversaw the building and expansion of several stations, the purchase of five new fire trucks, the implementation and growth of our West Plains Recruit Fire Academy and the increase in staffing from a mostly volunteer agency to several full-time career members, including two Deputy Chiefs.
Jim grew up in the 5-Mile area. He taught Hydraulics & Heavy Equipment at Spokane Community Colleges for 29 years. He and his wife, Noncie, raised three beautiful daughters.
Thank you to both Jim and Noncie for helping build Spokane County Fire District 10 into what it is today.
Rest easy, Jim.
