Resident Program at Spokane County Protection District 10

This program is ideally suited for college students who desire to offset some of collegešs housing costs. Our staff will assist each resident with their career goals in the fire service. Spokane County Fire District 10 offers the best firefighting and continuing education available. This ongoing training includes structural fire attack, command, wildland, EMS, haz-mat, fire prevention and a host of other items. All training is provided at no charge. It takes a commitment to be a resident firefighter. Residents attend 250 hours of fire and EMS training. These classes are given every Wednesday night and Saturdays at various locations within the county.

In return for services, we provide them with living accommodations that include satellite TV, high speed Internet connection, weight training facilities and utilities. During their stay residents have duty shift responsibility with volunteers and paid staff. Spokane County Fire District 10 dedicates a considerable amount of energy to its resident fire-fighter program. We are proud to offer the best program available in Spokane County. The camaraderie of the resident program will last a lifetime.

Recruits must be 18 years of age, possess a valid Washington Drivers license with a good driving record, be able to pass a physical agility test, doctoršs physical, written test and a background check. If youšre a high school senior, you should apply by July 1st.
